This is definitely a nice film. This is film is a nice example of what should happen when potential is wasted. I saw Michael Ray's storyline and couldn't support but be a tiny heart-broken at his failed NBA career. Chris Rock's voice was not as comical as it normally is and it is simple to forget that he is the narrator. I encourage anyone who has aspirations to enjoy pro sports to see this movie.
Remember this special? TNT present this. I have it taped. Its a nice storyline about Michael Ray Richardson: A nice basketball user that crashed his career because of drugs. He did them because he was so upset about the fact that all of his mates and coaches left because of trades and coaching oppurnities.A touching storyline with Chris Rock narrating and saying us about what he thought about Michael Ray.Denifitely suggested if you can search it.B+
Documentary on the life of Micheal Ray Richardson, a boy who, in the seventies, was on track to creating one of the best careers in NBA history. Had the bottom not fallen out, Michael Jordan would have had to work himself out of Richardson's shadow. Several have even heard of him, of course, and this no-nonsense movie shows you why. Pretty vintage NBA footage is mixed with interviews with sports personalities and former coaches. Amazingly, none of the commentaries come off as obvious or dry. Everyone has something interesting or insightful to tell ! And then there are the heartbreaking interviews with Richardson himself. The filmmakers create it simple for us to become emotionally involved in this story. One of the greatest sports documentaries ever made.
