Taking the Westside (2003) is a shot on video mess that tries to promote Christian fundamentalism through a terrible movie. If you're going to create a cheap film at least create a decent script, read a ebook about movie making and search some actors who know how to act. The on website audio is cute terrible but not as terrible as the voice overs. If you're going to speak into a microphone please stand away from the mike! Listen to your final product before you send it out for distribution. What happened to Danny de La Paz? this boy was a fine actor. It's a shame Hollywood doesn't care about many of their ethnic actors. He's highly underrated as a thespian. The "movie" follows a convict who says his life storyline to a fellow convict and it is padded out so it can be at least 70 mins long. I don't know why it was rated R, maybe so it can draw in a several folks who were dumb enough to watch this tripe. I should say you more about this video but that would be telling. The cover of the D.V.D. has folks on it that are nowhere to be found in the whole picture. Maybe the director could thing about post dubbing, with the actors lips away from the microphone. They also should test some lighting, any type of lighting. Not recommended, unless you wish to be preached to for an hour.
