Description: N.E.P. or The Stones God Threw on the Barricades was made as an independent project by TV Bordoshbagn for A1 Independent Tv in Skopje. The movie is of an undefined category and speaks about the Third Globe lies, which renowned 'well-intentioned' missionaries, founders of certain foundations and institutes, have promoted in the countries of the former socialist regime, especially in Eastern Europe. This project is an outsider's look at the paradox about the secret beauty of power and the submission to that power. N.E.P. is a video reflection on the aesthetics of the transformation of power, looked at from the mission of view of the ordinary boy in the so-called transitional countries who, after five years of living in 'freedom' still can't understand why the most democratic system of them all – parliamentary democracy – is better than the one before.

Description: Portland, 1988. Filmmaker Gus Van Sant shoots Drugstore Cowboy, the project that will bring he and his collaborators a formidable explode of mainstream attention. Starring Matt Dillon, Kelly Lynch, and Heather Graham, the movie follows a roving quartet of drug addicts — and, consequently, drug thieves, especially from the businesses of the game — who wash up in Portland's then-gritty Pearl District. A death among their own spooks the leader of the package into trying to clean up, and an encounter with a sepulchral junkie priest does its part to convince him further. Or maybe we could call him a Junkie priest, portrayed as he is by a controversial cameo from writer William S. Burroughs. "I'm going back to the old days," Burroughs tells of his role early in the above documentary on the making of Drugstore Cowboy. "The old days when they used to give folks morphine in jail. The old days before the methadone programs."

Says the storyline of Ashraf Marwan, a spy "unmasked" by British historian Ahron Bregman (or, perhaps, someone that Ahron Bregman feels he has unmasked -- with some support from Eli Zeira, the director of Israeli military intelligence during the Yom Kippur War). The director, Tom Meadmore, makes a solid effort to say both sides of the storyline and remain impartial -- leaving the 'double-agent' versus 'not double-agent' up to the viewer and could be commended for such, given the features of this particular case. One should potentially argue that there should be some sort of reverse-bias in play, in that one tries to be so impartial that glaring inconsistencies or absurdities are downplayed in order to enjoy up the 'mystery'.The one "slip" (if you should call it that) would be the rather saying question that Tom Meadmore asks Mr. Bregman toward the very end of the documentary -- but it was something on my mind & probably for many another viewers by that point. I think it required to be said.Recommended, enjoyed it throughout.
In this documentary we have no clear answer. What it is makes an argument that true life espionage is 100% cloak and dagger. A possible Egyptian character and a turned Israeli spy looms large. There is quite the side stories to help both. In this convoluted reality is the storyline of "The Spy Who Fell to Earth". And the game is wholly descriptive as Marwan's death was due to a fall. Was it the Israelis? Was it the Egyptians? Was it suicide? It remains an launch answer. In this climate this documentary allows there is ample reason for at least two of these scenarios. Even in retrospect the concrete respond alludes those who seek it. One journalist feels a massive burden in the outcome. This is an arresting confluence of events. There is ample notification here to help either of the two chances of murder with no clear slash answer. Frustrating? That is true, but the storyline is larger and that is what this documentary does achieve. The bottom line is that testing between two passionately waring factions is fought with peril. That peril resulted in Marwan's death is the only thing that is certain. What could not be forgotten is that this was only one life of thousands that has been lost over this struggle. A life and death that remains still today.
