The Blues Brothers Live At Winterland 1978
Description: Recorded on December 31, 1978, when the Blues Brothers opened for the Grateful Dead on the monumental closing night of Winterland, this recording captures a full unedited performance of the group at their prime. With the support of Belushi and Akroyd's rapidly growing fame and an extremely receptive audience, this may be the most exciting performance they ever did. Although it is obvious that they take this melody seriously, Belushi and Akroyd's innate comedic abilities at engaging an audience, balance their sincere reverence for the melody with a boatload of fun.

Description: MTV was there, and this was huge, but eventually the MTV guys were like, “We must go, we must receive this going, guys.”Axl’s like, “Fuck it. I’m not going on unless I have my bandanna!” Apparently, he couldn’t search it after tearing apart the tiny hovel they gave us backstage. Of course the rest of the band was avoiding any eye contact with Axl, preferring to wander off, out of earshot, to do their grumbling. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. “What’s wrong with you, Axl?” He shrugged me off and continued with his insane tirade. He had all of our roadies looking around for folks who had scarves or bandannas. I said, “C’mon, Axl, let’s just go on.”He blurted out, “Fuck that. Fuck you. I need a bandanna or a scarf or I’m not doing this.” Axl finally found a fucking scarf, some powder-blue, girly-looking thing, and the present began.-Steven Adler in his autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction"

Garth Live from Central Park #

Released 8/7/1997

Description: This was the ultimate Garth Brooks fan's dream-a gratis live performance in Central Park. Garth gave a nice showing in it, and I loved his performances of all his classic songs, such as "Unanswered Prayers, "The Dance," and "Friends in Weak Places." While there weren't any of the high-kinetic, ultra-energetic scene movements usually reserved for the arena shows Garth gives, it was still worth the video purchase. Garth's performance was terrific, and the audience members obviously loved it as they sang along with all of his songs. You will search yourself doing the same.
