He breaks fresh ground for himself, for me, and for Norway. And then this enchanting, profound, serious, and childlike naturalness! What a joy to gain a young mate with such qualities!"
Description: Play this unbelievable melody for two pianos from two of history's best composers. Mozart was without a doubt one of Grieg’s first and foremost musical inspirations. What is unique about Grieg’s adaptation of the Mozart Fantasia in C minor is that he has not reworked it in the traditional manner. Grieg’s unusual achievement lies in the fact that he has retained Mozart's text unchanged, adding an entirely fresh part which is to be performed together with the original. When both parts are played, they interweave and become something entirely new. The Mozart/Grieg Fantasia for two pianos in C minor is on this album surrounded by Mozart’s popular Sonata in D for two pianos and Grieg’s only original work for two pianos, the lesser known masterpiece Old Norwegian Music with variations.

Description: In the mid-1990s reports emerged that Prince had fallen into dispute with his record company. Having signed what was ostensibly a new, 100 million dollar contract just a couple of years before, Prince was actually demanding - not unreasonably to most commentators - control of his masters and the freedom to release what he wanted when he wanted. After a bitter fight of words, during which the star scrawled Slave across his cheek whenever he appeared in public and routinely dissed his label, the parties finally settled and Prince henceforth was gratis to take full control of his melody and the method it was sold to consumers. Prince approached this task with devastating foresight as he routinely created fresh marketing ideas which, with time, became the norm across the melody world.
