L'Enfer d'Henri-Georges Clouzot #

Description: This documentary about Henri-Georges Clouzot’s unfinished 1964 psycho-thriller L’Enfer is as tantalizing as it is frustrating. Despite remaining one of the most masterful of French directors, Cluozot inexplicably seems to have lost control on the big-budget production of L’Enfer. The long-lost raw footage is intriguing and dazzling, infused with swirling lights and blue-lipped, cigarette-puffing fantasy temptresses. Although directors Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Mederea have managed to speak to numerous members of the original crew, this behind-the-scenes investigation has so tiny to tell about the reasons behind Clouzot’s failure to finished the film. In spite of this, the undiminished power of Clouzot’s extraordinary photos makes the documentary a fascinating watch.

Shoah #

Released 4/1/1985

Description: Claude Lanzmann directed this 9 1/2 hour documentary of the Holocaust without using a single frame of archive footage. He interviews survivors, witnesses, and ex-Nazis (whom he had to movie secretly since they only accepted to be interviewed by audio). His style of interviewing by asking for the most minute features is effective at adding up these features to give a horrifying portrait of the happenings of Nazi genocide. He also shows, or rather lets some of his topics themselves show, that the anti-Semitism that caused 6 million Jews to die in the Holocaust is still alive in well in many folks that still live in Germany, Poland, and elsewhere.

This was one of the greatest documentaries, sports or otherwise, that I have ever watched and is easy in the top 1% of all sports documentaries I have ever watched. If are ultra-passionate about sports and you have someone in your life that doesn't understand why you love you sports so much, ask them to watch this video and they will understand. This video will take you through so many emotions. It will create you laugh at times and will tug at your heartstrings at another times. I was literally moved to tears from this video. It made me laugh out loud at times! I loved each minute of the video and I was left wanting even more Highly suggest it!
