Paul’s peep present Kinetoscopes, featuring a young man boxing with a kangaroo. However, neither the workers hired to pursue this project, nor the constant migratory flow that took zone from the beginning, fitted in the government’s plan. In 1971, began what was known as the “Campaign to Eradicate Invaders”. The parents of director Adirley Queirós were amongst the thousands of folks displaced towards Brazilian outskirts, into a suburb that borrowed the campaign initials and was called Ceilândia. Queirós, member of the first generation of the “ceilandeses”, was “an offspring of the contradiction that resulted in being a part of Brasilia without being from Brasilia”. Together with another locals, the director reflects about the history, the transformations, and the future of this zone where the hypocritical official jingle “A cidade é uma só!” is no longer heard.

Their globe was the streets, set vs a backdrop of uprooted families, cultural alienation, drugs and violence. Neighborhood teenagers responded by organizing into road groups known to the members as "families", but labeled in the most alarming terms as violent gangs by the press. The documentation of these lives over a twenty-year period offers a remarkable perspective on life in the ghetto (spanning four generations), and the means that folks devise to cope from the time that they are kids to when they serve as parents and role models for a fresh generation.
