Reflections with Stuart Gordon: A Director's Perspective (2007)*** 1/2 (out of 4)Fun, eight-minute interview with director Stuart Gordon who talks about his movie FROM BEYOND. He begins off talking about how 9/11 caused the horror category to receive a shot and bring it back as something folks wanted to see. From here he goes into feature about the success of RE-ANIMATOR and how it led to a three-picture deal. Gordon then talks about the rejected concepts and how Charles Band eventually accepted that FROM BEYOND could be the next film made. Gordon then goes into features about the casting, the script, the sexuality and the positive reviews that the movie got when it was finally released. Fanatics of the director or FROM BEYOND are going to be entertained by this interview as the director shares a lot of behind-the-scenes stories but also gives one a nice concept of his thoughts about the whole process. There are some very funny stories said about his wars with the MPAA and his interesting theory that this movie was being punished because RE-ANIMATOR was released unrated.
