Description: The manufacture of cables for transmitting electric power is shown. Copper bars are rolled and drawn into wire, which is twisted into strands, and covered for insulation and security with layers of rubber, lead, cloth and paper. The finished cables are then given high-voltage tests before being dispatched from the factory.

The Civilian Compliant Review Board CCRB also pick up her complaint and search proof of a shoddy investigation, over-looked facts and an attempt to cover up anything that would create the NYPD look terrible that goes the entire method to Mayor Giuliani himself.

A Cidade é Uma Só? #

Description: The town of Brasilia hoped to become, from its very architecture, the expression of a modern urban conception and an egalitarian society. However, neither the workers hired to pursue this project, nor the constant migratory flow that took zone from the beginning, fitted in the government’s plan. In 1971, began what was known as the “Campaign to Eradicate Invaders”. The parents of director Adirley Queirós were amongst the thousands of folks displaced towards Brazilian outskirts, into a suburb that borrowed the campaign initials and was called Ceilândia. Queirós, member of the first generation of the “ceilandeses”, was “an offspring of the contradiction that resulted in being a part of Brasilia without being from Brasilia”. Together with another locals, the director reflects about the history, the transformations, and the future of this zone where the hypocritical official jingle “A cidade é uma só!” is no longer heard.

Their globe was the streets, set vs a backdrop of uprooted families, cultural alienation, drugs and violence. The documentation of these lives over a twenty-year period offers a remarkable perspective on life in the ghetto (spanning four generations), and the means that folks devise to cope from the time that they are kids to when they serve as parents and role models for a fresh generation.

Within the different socialistic parties however, a fierce war on direction takes place, wherein Henriette has problem finding her place. After returning disillusioned from a trip to the Soviet Union, she does not feel at home in any leftist party. Soon she will recollect on this period in her biography "Het vuur brandde voort" (translation: "The fire rages on"). The movie reconstructs this period with the test of old movie material combined with texts by Henriette Roland Holst herself: fragments from letters, poems, speeches and books, sparingly supplemented with private commentary by the filmmaker.
