Just watched this-an originally classified training cartoon movie short-on YouTube. It details the voice of Mel Blanc as "Trigger Joe" who is on a plane with an attached gun with a crystal ball on it as a radar for aiming at opponent aircraft. But that another plane breaks that ball and almost kills Joe so the narrator says him the proper method to aim his goal with the visual aid meant to teach the untrained enlisted folks in the audience the same thing. Nice humor mixed with the serious teaching create this quite a fascinating curio for anyone interested in these type of things. So that's a nice suggestion for Position Firing.
