Description: The Met assembled a vocal dream squad for Jonathan Miller’s ellegant production of the eternal Mozart masterpiece: Renée Fleming as the Countess, Cecilia Bartoli as Susanna, and Bryn Terfel as Figaro. With James Levine—one of the world’s nice conductors of Mozart—in the pit, Bartoli interpolating two rarely heard alternate arias, and Dwayne Croft as the Count and Susanne Mentzer as Cherubino, this is a performance for the record books.
Description: The two-time GRAMMY Award-winners return as you've never seen them before with Synthesis Live. Filmed in the fall of 2017 at the Grand Theater, Connecticut, this concert movie details a re-imagining of some of Evanescence's best-loved songs with the spotlight on Amy Lee's virtuoso piano and voice supported by the combination of full orchestra, electronics and the band. The fresh arrangements give a focus to the emotions and stories in the band's songs. Filmed at the Grand Theater, Connecticut, Fall 2017
Description: An esoteric fairy-tale, a mystical-dreamlike tale, and a symbolic-Masonic course: No matter which perspective you consider it from, The Magic Flute will everytime be one of Mozart’s undisputed masterpieces. Amidst exotic, fanciful settings and cruel trials to defeat knowledge, amidst musical enchantment and threatening hostile forces, is the final win of nice over evil and love over hate. Singspiel in two acts to a libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder, the Zauberflöte is one of the Salzburg genius’ last masterpieces, which he probably began composing in May 1791, not even six months before his death. The opera had its debut in Vienna on 30 September 1791, conducted by the composer himself and with Schikaneder as Papageno.
Description: The ambiguities of Verdi’s theatre are particularly clear in his baritone roles, among which is that of Boccanegra, corsair turned doge of Genoa and the troubled observer of the conflicts that tore apart 14th century landowners and peasants. An eminently political opera in which power struggles are interwoven with family conflicts, Simon Boccanegra echoes the life of its composer – the boy who championed the cause of Italian unification and overcame the loss of his wife and children.
Description: The Sonics are revered by garage rock fanatics worldwide, but they have everytime carried a tiny more weight in the Pacific Northwest. They are to Washington what Springsteen is to Jersey. So in early 2015 when the band dropped their first fresh record in 50 years, Simple Road Records in Seattle was their destination to celebrate Record Shop Day with mates and fans. Performing to a standing room only crowd on RSD 2015, recorded by KEXP, and mixed and mastered by the nice Jack Endino, the band ferociously tore through the night joined by a stream of luminaries paying respects to the lords of the Northwest. “Live at Simple Street" is what that evening sounded like. Now, celebrate Record Shop 2016, because THIS IS THE SONICS

Description: Magic opera, Singspiel, a comedy with spectacular scene effects, Masonic ritual with Egyptian mysteries, heroic-comic opera? Die Zauberflöte is heard more often and has been more frequently performed, discussed, queried and interrogated than almost any another work in the history of opera. It is rare for the mysteriousness and multiformity of a work to be adjured with such mantric intensity. It is equally rare for a work to play such undisputed success despite all these debates – and for over two hundred years at that.

Description: Amour, the messenger of the gods, says Orpheus that he may descend to the underworld and return with Eurydice. His singing has the power to appease the Furies and animate the blessed Shadows. Yet, his voice cannot reassure Eurydice who despairs of the feigned indifference of Orpheus, place to the use by Jupiter. Raphaël Pichon conducts the opera of operas and Aurélien Bory displays the giddiness of the mental and supernatural territories traveled by Orpheus and beyond. Marianne Crebassa plays a fresh breeches role with Hélène Guilmette (Hélène in Le Timbre d’argent) and Lea Desandre (the game role in Alcione).
