Description: Filmed at their Royal Albert Hall debut gig in September 2000, Bond Live is a slick showcase for four classically trained, ex-session musicians and their fusion of string quartet and rock music. Whatever the hype (four pretty girls wearing scanty tops and dancing with violins while backed by a five-piece rock combo and a small, rarely seen string section), it has nothing to do with making classical melody cool and everything to do with sex. In "Duel," first and second violins Haylie Ecker and Eos trade licks "guitar-hero" style, and most of the tracks are fresh instrumentals written for the album Born, though "The 1812" does manage to reduce Tchaikovsky's overture to a five-minute dance number. With rock-show lighting, synthesizers, dance beats, and a finale involving the "James Bond Theme" followed by a Rio-style fiesta for the closing "Victory--Carnival Mix," this is camp, melodramatic, sexy fun.

Description: These two finished concerts from Montreux in 1991 and 1992 catch Tori Amos right at the begin of her solo career, one shortly before the release of het 'Little Earthquakes' album and the second a several months after. There is a clear progression from one year to the next as Tori grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, bouyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. The tracklisting focuses on 'Little Earthqaukes' and details all the hits from it but there are also rare songs from her early EPs including her distinctive takes on Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Thank You', and Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. This DVD brilliantly captures the vibrancy of Tori Amos' early live perfomances.

Description: As KISSology - Vol. 1 (1974-1977) announces loudly, all the chutzpah and bombast that made KISS so huge--the fire-breathing, the blood-dripping, the kabuki-mask make-up and platform shoes, the synchronized head-bobs--were in zone from the very beginning. KISS's 1974 concert in San Francisco is virtually identical to their 1977 concerts in Japan and Houston, at the peak of their popularity. For hardcore fans, this occasion to bask in the nuances of five performances of "Black Diamond" and six performances of "Firehouse" is essential viewing, but for the less committed the pleasures of KISSology lie in the bizarre collisions pop culture is heir to: Gene Simmons, in full costume, declaring himself "evil incarnate" on The Mike Douglas Show;

Yes: Live At Montreux #

Released 3/27/2007

Description: In 2003, the band made their first appearance at the Montreux Festival, despite having a long association with the city itself (they recorded there frequently in the 70s). It was a triumphant night and is regarded by both the band members and fanatics as probably the finest Yes gig ever to be filmed. The classic line-up contains Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, and Alan White. Prog-rockers Yes return to the scene in this 2003 performance at the Montreux Festival. Though decades may have passed since the group's heyday in the 1970s, Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman, Chris Squire, and Alan White have lost none of their edge. Laying into deep cuts like "Siberian Khatru," "Long Distance Runaround," and "I've Seen All Nice People," this group of grizzled legends delivers a smoldering rock performance.

Paris Follies of 1956 Reviews:

I can't trust the two terrible reviews on this website for this film - I loved it! The game I watched it under was "Fresh from Paris", it's alter ate game evidentially. The plot is indeed cute thin, almost non-existent really, but that's not why you'd watch this - it's nice because of the wonderful dance numbers, and the sometimes hilarious singing numbers. (I'm referring to the funny act by the four male singers, it made me laugh aloud). Loads of superb costumes too, a true visual treat through and through.There are quite a several modern day burlesque women who should learn something from watching "Fresh from Paris".I enjoyed this movie so much I will be purchasing it on DVD (if available). Don't miss this if you love nice old-fashioned entertainment!

Jeez - who's the sourpuss who found everything to complain about? He was method off base (and he can't spell). I expected tiny from "Fresh From Paris," and was pleasantly surprised. Unlike most such grade-B jobs this one has a good-sized cast including a host of nice dancers and some cute nice Berkley-like arrangements. The songs were cute nice and the 'idjit' who place down Maggie Whiting's singing is nut-so. In the '40s and '50s she was one of the most famous singers, supporting to hold Capitol on the map. The Sportsmen had an perfect spoof on their boss, Jk. Benny. The plot was decent enough and, all in all, it was time very well spent.

This is a bit of a difficult musical movie to like. Essentially it follows the opening night of a musical spectacular in a (actual) restaurant named the Moulin Rouge. The lead actress is essentially there because she's in love with the director, but he's off seeing the art director on the side. Meanwhile, the lead actress's child sister is looking for her large break too. When the lead actress finds out about her philandering boyfriend, will this be her chance? Filled with a "who cares?" storyline and somewhat boring production values, (although the 'circus' ending was a bit inspired.. End the present with Circus elephants!) and interestingly tired dance numbers, this entire thing gets boring quick, especially when they stall the storyline for fifteen mins to go through 5 or 6 songs. YAWN! The acting here is OK, Forrest Tucker seems to can't wait for this thing to end, Margaret Whiting is a passable singer at best, and she's got WAY too much lipstick on, and I LOVE Dick Wesson as the obligatory gay scene manager. Is there any another kind?
