Description: My movies are like that: in a room, but looking out onto an launch sky. [...] I can’t really tell it except to repeat that Bresson note, ‘that without a thing changing, everything is different.’ The movie exists. The fiction is set up, and we trust in it. The justness of the agreement leads us to trust it, because everything plays equally at being a sign. That’s the arrangement of the elements. It’s an act of faith. La vallée close is just this: elements treated above all as if in a documentary that, without being changed, portray the storyline and reveal between them the elements of fiction. But above all seen as they are, insignificant. And then in the relations they set up, they can satisfy our desire for a story. -- Rousseau

Seen it 3 times & laughed til I cried. The premise is a pageant for Ms. Howard Stern 1994. You can imagine the contestants he attracts. Babes, some "freaks" & of course-lesbians. The talent tournament is unlike any other. The panel of celebrity judges is a who's who of "has-beens" & pathetic specimens of humankind. One is John Wayne Bobbit. Throughout the present a pledge drive is underway to support with his medical expenses. Interject numerous skits (a re-enactment of Bobbit's decapitation, Howard as an out of control Michael Jackson, you receive the idea. Sherman Hensley as Whoopi with Howard as Ted Danson is choice!) Howard is the M.C. & displays singing, writing & acting talents that can't come across on his radio present or the televised version. If you love Howard or sick, demented humor-WATCH THIS. Not commercially place out on VHS, but check Ebay or your local Howard fanatic club.
First, I am a Howard Stern listener since 1988. I am proud to tell that his present makes me laugh out loud a couple times a day, minimum. Not only was this a excellent parody of a pageant from the 80's and early 90's, it is packed with laughs. The opening Michael Jackson skit is VERY VERY funny. Many of the skits were more timely, like the Ted Danson/Whoopi Goldberg bit. Does anyone even remember that he showed up to the Friars in black face?My favourite was the Sienfeld song, "At Seventeen". Again, would folks even remember that he dated a woman who was still in high school at that time? For as "free form" and loose as Howard can be, this is a tight show. It moves quickly and is loaded with laughs. If you are not a Howard fan, you are either not smart enough to bother with him, or you are missing the best show/performer in the history of entertainment.
I saw this at a buddies house by accident. We all had plans to go out that night but ended up watching this and were in tears!! This has to be the funniest, sick, and just plain insanely HUMOROUS thing ever recorded! I can't trust how funny this was. the Bobbit skit, the Meter for the telethon and just pure insanity.. If you can see this, WATCH IT! You will laugh your a** OFF! I gotta tell that if you are a prude that gotta have everything be politically correct, stay away. But for those of us who admire real humor, this is it. RAW and just funny. Howard was everytime cool but after this I became a difficult core listener and still am to this day, on Sirius Sat Radio where more of this brand of uncensored humor continues.. BaBa BOOEY!A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 10 of 10!
