Description: Underrated in light of its actual (February 4, 2007) IMDb score of 6.4, this movie reminded me of what Joseph Heller's 'Something Happened' should look like if a movie was to be made out of it. Our middle-aged character's life is in a fragile balance at the begin and later that balance will, of course, be disturbed. Even without much in the method of drama at first, an at times nightmarish reality intermingles with nightmares, and, typically for a film from this region, state bureaucracy and the absurdities of a semi-legal order enjoy a role in moving developments along. So what is it that awaits our character down the informal street he is officially sent? Finished deconstruction? Or the 'unbearable lightness of being'? If you give the film the time to unfold, it will reward you revealing an entertaining idea by the end.

This "Passing Parade" episode says the tale of Francisco Madero who overthrew President Porfirio Díaz of Mexico. His ambitions were to give the peasants better security under the law from mistreatment by the rich landowners and the military. He quickly made a number of errors in judgment from which he should not recover. This tiny movie explains his errors. When he realized he was failing miserably he made a decision to die a martyr. The storyline is better said in the films about Villa and Zapata. His death precipitated the rise of these revolutionaries. The movie is bookended by views of El Zócalo Square to give it a Mexico flavor.
Madero of Mexico (1942)*** (out of 4) The thirty-seventh episode in MGM and John Nesbitt's Passing Parade series takes a look at Don Francisco Madero, perfectly played by actor Paul Guilfoyle. The movie opens up with a dmca that "some" of the history has been changed in order for the spirit of Guilfoyle to be said but we see him as a rich land owner who decides to war the government so that terrible folks will be able to live in a land of democracy. Villa and Zapata are probably better known due to their detail movies but this short manages to be cute entertaining even if all three cute much featured the same story. The main reason to watch this movie is for the performance of Guilfoyle. He was a cute well known hero actor in his time and he perfectly captures the spirit of his hero even though he doesn't receive a single line of dialogue. Like the another movies in this series, we only receive the narration by Nesbitt to say the story. The storyline itself is cute familiar items as we receive the lone boy willing to stand up for what he believes to be right.
