Description: In Dreams: The Roy Orbison Storyline recently aired as part of a PBS Pledge Break unique that I recorded off from. It follows his life and career from the 1960s to his death in 1988. You see him perform all his popular songs including: "Only the Lonely", "Sweet Dreams, Baby", "Crying", "In Dreams", "Anything You Want", and of course, "Pretty Woman". You see two performances of the latter, the first one when it came out with the words "Come with me, baby", the another one near the end of his life with Bruce Springsteen teaming with him on an elongated guitar duet and Orbison actually singing "Come to me, baby". It also covers his tragedies such as the death of his first wife and later, their two sons.

Grainy black-and-white and lyrical colour photos alternate with one other and highlight the almost surrealist decor of the dump, where among giant, smoking mounds of garbage, a handful of folks and flocks of black vultures are looking for anything worth taking.

In charge are two superb specimens, the butch winner Chigusa Nagaya, still venting her harm at the hands of her units father as she tries to whip her surrogate daughters through the pain and commitment barriers; and her sophisticated and slightly menacing Chairman. It's a gruelling, physical film, as you would expect, but the makers don't create massive weather of it. And it certainly disposes of any concept that the minigame is faked.
