Description: Pole, who are you? This movie collage that combines archival and contemporary materials, documentary and staged pictures, press reports, social announcements, sale offers and speech excerpts is an attempt to respond this question. Referring to the Polish tradition of a constructive documentary in the style of Wojciech Wiszniewski, the movie presents different manifestations of Polishness: patriotic and religious rituals, daily traditions as well as characteristic landscapes or intimate memories from childhood.
Description: Look at a crumbling hippie commune in California. In the words of Ed Pincus: "It was the Summer of Love, 1967. The Haight-Ashbury section of San Francisco was to be the center of a vast cultural experiment. Ideologically it was an attempt at a post-industrial society, where folks no longer required to work and communities of choice allowed folks to “do their own thing.” David Neuman and I set off to movie what happened that summer. We decided to do what we thought would be a movie about a rural commune, because that seemed to be the apotheosis of hippie ideals. What we found was a bizarre replication of bourgeois society—the sun rose on the nothing new. We decided to test an anecdotal editing style with an attempt to enforce a narrative line."

A professor that talked about anything but literature, Cacaso fulfilled notebooks not only with poems but also reflections, drawings and collages, immersed in the purest multimedia expression, long before the internet. Description: In 1969 Fresh Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison prosecuted only trial for the murder of John F Kennedy. Although the defendant, Clay Shaw, was acquitted, he committed perjury and the central charge, that he conspired to murder the President in his role as a CIA operative was given added weight when after his death it was admitted by the CIA that he worked for them. Garrison's situation was the basis for the epochal movie JFK by Oliver Stone which did more than any another medium before or since to shatter the facade carefully constructed by the Warren Commission and its sycophants. This film, a labour of love for multiple Emmy Award champion John Barbour is a damning indictment of the American Media for its crucifixion of both himself and Garrison. Like everything else connected with this situation you the truth is only said by the dedicated and the independent. John's movie shows that the establishment media is neither.

Description: A flighty, dull peek at the underground marijuana distribution system of the early 1970s, finished with tie dye, VW buses and a soft-focused romp through fields of hemp at sunset. Stereotypically '70s in almost each fashion, it's shot on cheap stock with a terrible soundtrack, boring topics and jumpy editing. It's interesting in a purely historical sense, as we receive a cute nice concept of where law enforcement stood in regards to the substance a decade before Nancy Reagan instituted the fight on drugs, but viewers out for a bit more insight are due to be sorely disappointed. It's cool to see the narrator reach out of a moving vehicle to grab a fistful of buds off of a roadside plant, but that's about the extent of the excitement. (IMDb)
