Description: The European equivalent of "The Return of the Secaucus 7," this Swiss movie looks at the lives of few boys and girls in their 30s as they confront the slim gains of the "revolutionary" sixties. Max, a dissatisfied copy editor; Myriam, a redhead into tantric sex; and Marie, a supermarket checker who gives unauthorized discounts to the elderly, find for renewed meaning on a communal farm. The game character, a six-year-old child, is the carrier of their hopes for the future.
Description: Madame Rosa lives in a sixth-floor walkup in the Pigalle; she's a retired prostitute, Jewish and an Auschwitz survivor, a foster mom to kids of another prostitutes. Momo is the oldest and her favorite, an Algerian lad whom she raises as a Muslim. He asks about his parents; she answers evasively. As she ages and takes fewer children, Momo gotta do more for her; as cash is tight, he tries to earn pennies on the road with a puppet. He's a pretty man-child, and Madame Rosa makes him promise never to sell himself or become a pimp. A movie editor, Nadine, befriends him, and his father appears as well. Madame Rosa reaches her last days in fear of hospitals, and Momo gotta act.
Description: French colonists in Africa, few months behind in the news, search themselves at fight with their German neighbors. Deciding that they gotta do their proper duty and war the Germans, they promptly conscript the local native population. Issuing them boots and rifles, the French attempt to create "proper" troops out of the Africans. A young, idealistic French geographer seems to be the only rational person in the town, and he takes over control of the "war" after few bungles on the part of the others.
Description: Billy Joe confesses his love to the lovely Bobbi Lee only to cover his growing fear that he may, in fact, be homosexual. One night, at a barn dance, he gets a tiny drunk and rather than going with the hired whores, gives into his desires and sexual relations with an unnamed man. The guilt causes him to run away, hide in the woods and eventually confess everything to Bobbi Lee who doesn't wish to trust him only because she was enjoying the forbidden nature of their love. In the end, he cannot agree his sexuality nor can he hide behind Bobbi Lee and that's why he throws himself off the Tallahachee bridge.

This causes the tension which drives the film along, though it maintains a fairly light atmosphere most of the time.
