Description: The movie is set just before Poland's communist regime came to an end, and the central hero is a provincial censor (Janusz Gajos), a tired, sloppy, lonely man, whose wife has long since left him. For him, censorship is both an art and a game, but he does not play it. During a screening of a sentimental Polish melodrama named "Daybreak" at the Liberty cinema across the street from the censor's office, the actors begin to rebel and refuse to speak their lines. There is anarchy and when the censor is unable to control the situation, senior party officials are named in. Eventually a movie critic notes that the case reminds of "The Purple Rose of Cairo" by Woody Allen and brings a reel of the movie to demonstrate. The officials watch the movie with amusement until other mix-up occurs: the second projector is turned on accidentally and superimposes "Daybreak" over "Purple Rose".

Description: Hans-Jürgen Syberberg's Parsifal movie is a psychological interpretation of the opera mixing in references to the history of Germany, Wagner's life, German literature and philosophy. The action is centered around Wagner's death mask. Kundry (played by the German actress Edith Intelligent and sung by Yvonne Minton) is the main hero - one might read the movie as the storyline of her redemption rather than that of Amfortas. Made entirely in a studio (in 1981 and released in 1983), it is characterized by long takes, slowly moving camera that breaths with the melody and varies between close-ups and long shots to emphasize the drama.

Description: A ellegant Israeli crime comedy, Mars Turkey says the storyline of Reuven, a police captain in charge of protecting Shimon, the last remaining witness in a trial vs crime-lord Patrick Sarusi. Seeing as how Patrick has managed to receive to all the another witnesses, Reuven is so desperate to hold Shimon alive that he assigns himself to watch-duty, with the intention of never letting Shimon out of his sight. But as the trial draws near, happenings begin spinning out of control when, in an act of desperation, Reuven sends his sexually frustrated mistress, Aya, to plant a bug in Patrick's apartment. Encouraged by Patrick's neighbor, Aya decides to confront Reuven about his sexual inadequacy and his vain promises to her about leaving his wife, just as Patrick slips out of house-arrest. Will Reuven be able to hold his mind on the job while his love life melts down in front of his eyes?
