De la Pera was a talented photographer, everytime willing to test fresh gadgets and techniques. This movie experiments with microphotography in the style of Jean Comandon's movies for Pathé and it is part of a series which included a movie about mosquitoes and paludism and other one about cancer, which are considered lost. Flies were a famous topics of silent movies and there are more than a dozen games featuring them in the teens and early twenties.
