Description: Foo Warriors have become one of the greatest bands to rock an arena over their nearly 20-year career. Actually you can experience two and a half hours of their strong live performance from the band’s April 7 headlining set at the Brazilian edition of Lollapalooza. Dave Grohl and his cohorts took to the scene Saturday night for the Brazilian edition of Lollapalooza. The Jockey Club, in Sao Paolo, Brazil saw nearly 70,000 fanatics during the two-day event. Foo Fighters’ hit-packed set lasted nearly 3-hours — something that has become fairly routine at the band’s concerts. The Brazilian crowd was treated to a barrage of arena-sized rock anthems including ‘Times Like These,’ ‘My Hero,’ ‘Best of You,’ and a cover of ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ with fellow Lollapalooza performer Joan Jett.

Description: In November 1971, Ginger Baker, the legendary drummer of Cream and Blind Faith, decided to set up a recording studio in Lagos, then the capital of Nigeria. Baker was one of the first rock musicians to realize the potential of African music. He also decided that it would be a rewarding musical experience to travel to Nigeria over land across the Sahara desert - a adventure that would lead him into a number of adventures. This movie by Tony Palmer follows Ginger Baker's odyssey as he makes his adventure and finally arrives in Nigeria to set up his studio, which would run successfully through the seventies as a facility for both local and western musicians (Paul McCartney's Wings recorded "Band On The Run" there).
Description: During the Gossip's summer tour in 2007, the gritty dance punks descended on the U.K., where they are indie superstars. Most songs are taken from 2006's Standing in the Method of Control, the band's feverish, disco-blues boogie down. Singer Beth Ditto does a less raspy Janis Joplin as she belts out sweat-inducing renditions of "Yr Mangled Heart," "Fire with Fire" and "Standing in the Method of Control." Fanatics will also appreciate stripped-down covers of Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" and Wham!'s "Careless Whisper."

Description: Double Down Live is a 2 DVD set from ZZ Top combining shows from 1980 and 2008. Disc one was filmed at the Grugahalle in Essen, Germany for the Rockpalast TV series. Hot on the heels of their classic "Deguello" album (it details 9 of the 10 songs from it) the present finds ZZ Top before sequencers and synthesizers epitomizing their "lil' ol' blues band from Texas" nickname. Complimented by tracks drawn predominantly from their "Tres Hombres" and "Fandango!" albums this is a real greatest of ZZ Top in the seventies. Disc Two was shot during their European tour in 2008 and combines nice live performances, interview clips and back scene footage to make the ultimate ZZ Top on the street movie. With nearly 30 years between the performances the two disc set gives a fascinating "then and now" insight into what has maintained the ZZ Top live phenomenon.
Description: Recorded at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, on September 1, 2006, the album is an overview of the band's career, from bringing old hits such as For Freedom Within the Head and Show A Beija-Flor, until newest songs as not Cry My Love, Who Plant Prejudice and Wanna Be Satisfied too (three belonging to the disk Our Mission, 2005). The album brought the unreleased song Natiruts Reggae Power, who was national success.
Description: Pearl Jam live rarely disappoints and this collection of songs straight from their first smash Ten (save for the State of Love and Believe song which you'll recognize if you've listened to enough rock radio over the years but for some idiotic reason was left off the album) is one of their classic shows. They're so into the swing of things, as are the audience, that nothing goes wrong. It's one of those situations where the only true flaw is a typical limitation of television: it's only 35 mins long! Even on the recently re-release on DVD (it comes with the deluxe pack of the Ten reissue) there are no additional songs, no additional pieces of fat like when Nirvana or Alice in Chains had their unplugged performances released. It is what is is, and gives the MTV people perhaps TOO much time for commercials.

Description: Jazz Icons: Cannonball Adderley boasts two beautifully filmed concerts from one of the most celebrated sextets in jazz history, captured at the top of their game. Cannonball Adderley (alto sax), Nat Adderley (cornet) and the masterful Yusef Lateef (tenor sax, flute, oboe), deliever a heavy three-horn frontline attack, while the stellar rhythm section featuring a pre-Weather Report Joe Zawinul (piano), Sam Jones (bass) and Louis Hayes (drums) fuel the songs with a deep infectious swing. Quincy Jones’ “Jessica’s Day” leaps from the gate with a large “big band” sound that is extraordinary for only six musicians. This DVD is a reminder that Cannonball Adderley was one of the most outstanding and highly respected alto saxophonists in the history of jazz, a blues-based jazzman who should enjoy anything in magnificent fashion.
Description: In the farmhouse Los Laureles, owned by Don Juan Manuel Almodovar, wealthy Andalusian landowner, everything is being prepared to obtain José Luis, only kid of Juan Manuel, who is being educated in a Jesuit school in England and is returning for a vacation with his father. The father does everything his kid says, even when he is asked to accompany him to the Venta del Remedio where a blind gypsy named "Colorín" lives. But at the after party a serious accident occurs
Description: Recorded at an Amsterdam, Holland, present on January 30, 2005 (when Popovic was 28), this concert paints a consistently exciting picture of her talents as a live performer. Popovic is as captivating on the aggressive, confident strut of "My Man" and Howlin' Wolf's "Sittin' on Top of the World" as she is on the moody, dusky jazziness of "Won't Allow You Down" and the instrumental "Navajo Moon" (which was written in memory of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of her major influences). Although very blues-friendly, Ana! Live in Amsterdam isn't strictly a document of a blues present -- rather, it is a document of a present in which the blues meet rock, soul, funk, and jazz. Personnel: Dominique Vantomme (piano); Fabrice Ach (electric bass); Denis Palatin (drums). Audio Mixer: Ronald Trijber.
