Description: The BBC named her "the pre-eminent vocal talent of her generation." But on a stormy December night in 2006, before the globe saw her as a superstar, she was simply Amy Winehouse, testing an acoustic set in a small church for an Irish TV melody series. Witness that evening's searing performance, featuring songs from the album, Back To Black, including "Rehab" and "You Know I'm No Good." Then hear, in her own words, how the influences of Mahalia Jackson, Thelonious Monk, and even Salt-N-Pepa helped her forge her own jazz pop style.
Description: A powerful representation of the actual jazz fusion stage got together in july 1991 with this sampling of artists from the GRP label. They included frequent jazz-rock collaborator Ernie Watt, and David Benoit, master of a "jazz-lite" style. But guitarist Lee Ritenour is key boy here: he calls most of the shots, and six of the eight pieces are his, including a fine tribute to early inspiration Wes Montgomery on "24th Road Blues." For the most part, easy-going and mellow are the watchwords on this tool - not surprising since the users tend to be based in Los Angeles. Ritenour's "Etude" stands out for its creation of atmosphere, and so do Dave Valentin's solo melodic meanderings on a selection of wooden flutes backed by his own vocal effects. All elements considered the bill is a demonstration of top-drawer musicianship, awareness of contemporary styles – and versatility.

Description: This historic present was recorded in Paris in 1981 during an exclusive, all-night concert. Punctuated by the exotic and suggestive tribal dances and rituals performed on scene by 15 of Fela's wives, this exceptional happening was captured by multiple cameras, enhancing this unique DVD presentation. Fela was a musician, a politician, a spiritual chief, and an agitator all at once, but however one views the man, he was undeniably a symbolic icon of struggle & revolution, as well as one of the most beloved boys in Africa. In Nigeria, Fela claimed that he was better known than the President. It was probably true.

Description: In the mid-1960s a fresh twist on contemporary rock melody emerged out of San Francisco. Known as 'psychedelia', it was pioneered by a close-knit community of local bands who merged traditional American forms such as folk, country, blues and rock & roll with fresh sounds often developed under the influence of psychedelic drugs. Bound up with the social and cultural changes for which San Francisco was also the focal point, it was a combination that made for a radical re-imaging of youth culture. This movie traces the movements, happenings and sounds of those heady days, and traces the storyline of the definitive band of the psychedelic age, The Grateful Dead. Giving time too for the involvement of Frisco's another lead users such as Large Brother & The Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane, The Charlatans and Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Eddie Vedder is the lead vocalist and one of the three guitarists of Peal Jam. He is known largely for his strong baritone vocals, although this live melody video showcases each reason why Eddie Vedder is my private favorite musician. By the way, he became my favorite only after I watched this film. Released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2011, Water on the Street was recorded on August 16th and 17th, 2008 at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. It documents Vedder's 2008 solo tour. There are 24 tracks including Pearl Jam songs, covers, and solo works from Vedder's Into the Wild (2007) soundtrack and his Ukulele Songs (2011) CD.Most of the movie is Vedder testing solo. In my opinion, Vedder could everytime enjoy solo, because he has the vocals and guitar testing to really stand out. This movie convinced me that he is underrated as a guitar player. Some of the strumming patterns are hard to copy and I think it's impressive when he gives 100% into the vocals while testing interesting guitar rhythm and solos at the same time. I have the songs on my iPod and I've listened to many of them over 100 times every and I also learnt about half of them for acoustic guitar. Each song has its own swagger. He plays primarily an nice sounding Martin acoustic guitar, but also an electric Fender Telecaster, mandolin, ukulele, foot pedals, and a stomp box. A several of the songs have an accompanying musician (always different), and all of these also worked well.My favorite songs were Society, Guaranteed, Far Behind, Rise, and Difficult Sun which were different, and arguably better versions than the Into the Wild soundtrack. Golden State, Forever Young, Driftin', and No More are another nice songs. There are also two premium track covers which are Blackbird and All Along the Watchtower, both of which are also great. The order of the songs worked well. In general, many of the songs are what I'd call chilling, campfire kind songs. There are no raunchy, high tempo rock solos, like Pearl Jam sometimes does, but rather the focus is on perfect (usually acoustic) sound and vocals. To hold things interesting, Vedder breaks up the video between some songs with stories and occasionally funny anecdotes. He's not a nice public speaker or comedian (in this movie at least), but I didn't mind these breaks either.Another thing I liked was how cool Vedder is in general. He wears a easy shirt and has the long hair. The business casual look fits the melody and personality. He also seems to like surfing, paddle boarding, and Hawaii, because there are clips of those as well, which is cool. Personally, I think Vedder has gotten better with age (he's 51 in 2016). He used to scene dive and crowd surf, but in this movie created exceptional solo melody focused on nice acoustic sound.Personally, I hate melody videos and much prefer live videos that movie the melody artists and their instruments in live performances, which is what this movie does. The camera is mostly focused on Vedder and sometimes his guitar. The lighting is great, although I would have preferred the camera to focus a bit more on his guitar rather than his face and body, although it's mostly so it would be easier for me to learn these nice songs.I highly suggest buying or at least watching this film, especially if you like Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam, rock music, folk music, acoustic guitar, solo performances of multi-instrumentalists, and/or live melody videos. This is a seriously under-appreciated gem. As of today (Feb. 3, 2016), it has an average rating of 8.5 with only 71 ratings, which says me another folks like it but not many folks know about it. If you're not sure you'd like it, you can watch most of the individual songs from the movie on YouTube. Additionally, I suggest watching Into the Wild, because it is a nice film and its soundtrack is part of this video, but a various version.I want Eddie would do more solo albums, tours, and videos, because I think that is when he is truly at his greatest and most memorable. Although he's much more well known as a member of Pearl Jam, he shines as a solo artist, related to tell a Chris Cornell or Xavier Rudd kind musician.
