Description: "A hippie takes a musical adventure through hallucinogen animation." ----------------------------------Summary from Boxoffice [Issue from 4/14/1975, p.6] This True Live productions movie consists of a kaleidoscope of photos and colors, flashes of real-life scenes and animated art work, all set to music. There is no plot. The thread that holds this full-length detail together is an animated hippie hero who sits in his living room listening to a Los Angeles radio station while smoking marijuana. His “high” allows him to dream up all the photos on-screen. Although the movie is overly long and, for that reason, seems disconnected, the photography and art work (by Patrick) are quite enjoyable. The picture seems meant to be viewed by young folks and might search appeal in selective showcasing. Anton Noel produced, directed and wrote the film, done in four-channel Quadrophonic sound. Soundtrack is accessible from Storybook Records.

This is the second movie for the fully nutso, potty-humored children anime Dr. Slump. This one takes the characters into zone to rescue their teacher.Pros:I liked that they went into zone for this one. It's a pastiche of sci-films and they have a lot of fun with it.The zone warfare scenes look really good. It's from the time when animation was very colourful and it works.A lot of elements are off-the-wall, especially the villain and his mother who have to be seen to be believed.Cons:This is the only detail length (90 min.) one in the movie series. I can see why they didn't do this again. They just didn't have enough material to fill up the run time. Too many jokes run too long or are we repeated too many times. The filmmakers especially don't know what to do with the main hero Arale. She's everytime cheerfully oblivious in the show, but at least usually she'd have things and characters to interact with. Here she just seems off to the side for most of the movie doing goofy items because she can't understand the importance of her mission. As a westerner, I feel there were a couple jokes that were kinda creepy.Overall, this is is an interesting film, but I wouldn't suggest it to a casual viewer.
