Hacks #

Released 1/1/1997

Description: Cheats is a 73 minute European documentary exploring what nature of "Hacking" is in a social context. In HACKS, the Austrian multimedia artist Christine Bader examines who is the pc hacker and what moves him or her. Is the hacker a Robin Hood in cyber zone or an anarchistic agitator? Bader speaks with Dutch, German and American communication freaks who are working with different kinds of network issues, like making the Internet available to individual persons (Felipe Rodriguez, founder of Internet provider Xs4all), creating a meeting zone in cyber space, or designing an ultramodern communication network on a ‘multimedia art ship‘. ‘Hackers are not encumbered by technical, financial or organizational problems, they just wish to do things‘, Rodriguez thinks. That the technological means ‘just to do things‘ are actually freely accessible is demonstrated by the numerous pc initiatives that whiz past in HACKS.

Biography - Barack Obama #

Released 11/30/2007

Description: This cable-television biography about the life of Illinois senator Barack Obama was made before he began campaigning to be the Democratic party's candidate for the 2008 presidential race. Still, the tool suggests Obama has one or other type of profound, American destiny as a mixed-race activist who never comfortably fit into one or other group, and had to look deep into his own roots to understand his identity. The son of a white American mother and black Kenyan father, Obama was abandoned by the latter when he returned to his native country to work for its improvement. Interviews with childhood mates and his sister describe Obama's restlessness before attending Harvard law school and propelling himself into a life of public service and community activism. Often accused of lacking enough political experience to qualify him for the White House, Obama comes across in this present as a visionary and experienced consensus-builder who can reach across opposing points of view.

Description: Celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the creation of Pakistan, this video identifies the keys to understanding the country’s show through its political history. Ever since its creation in 1947, Pakistan seems to have been a prisoner of the conflicting geopolitical legacy which hampers its political and economic development. Political divide stems from multiple factors such as its antagonism with India, its relationship to neighbouring Afghanistan, and its tactic of changing alliance with globe powers, in addition to the banner of Islam which, unable to unite ethnic groups, has at times exacerbated conflict between Muslims in this country of 150 million inhabitants that plays - and will continue to enjoy for a long time to come - a central role in worldwide political and strategic affairs.

Entreatos #

Released 11/19/2004

Description: The future President of Brazil is particularly outspoken while in the air. Lula explains to his fellow passengers what the difference is between his labor party and social democratic parties elsewhere in the world. His party was founded by workers, while the others were established by intellectuals who pretend to come from the proletariat. His message: stay close to who you are – in Lula's eyes, authenticity is a prerequisite for political success. This serves as a leitmotif throughout Intermissions, which follows Lula during the hectic election campaign for the presidency in 2002. Lula gave filmmaker João Moreira Salles and his team finished access, and the effect is an intimate documentary of what went on behind the scenes. Sometimes, Lula is scared that he will lose his freedom as president. Combined with Lula's candor, the film's observational style provides some very unique insight into one of Brazil's most famous leaders.

Dosed Reviews:

This movie documents an addict's adventure from rock bottom to early recovery using primarily Psilocybin mushrooms and Ibogane therapies. These plant medicines have been used for healing by indigenous cultures for thousands of years, but the West is slowly waking up to the transformational potential of these substances. 20 years ago these substances were considered drugs. Now, as this documentary shows, they are being reclassified as medicines. This documentary is so well done. I applaud the authors in their courage to say this storyline and lead the charge in changing the public narrative around addiction and addiction recovery. I also applaud the girl in the movie and thank her for her willingness to have her deeply private experience be shown on the large screen.

Went to the globe premiere of this documentary in Denver and was amazed at how brutally honest it was about dealing with addiction and how this country keeps pushing maintenance drugs as opposed to now dealing with the pain that causes these addictions. Lot's of documentaries will present the gritty side of life but this one also showed the beauty of hope as Adrienne starts to deal with her problems. With the proper test of Psilocybin and Ibogaine the odds of beating the addiction goes up dramatically. If you or anyone you love is battling their drug habits please watch this film.

I initially went into this thinking it would be other documentary about psychedelic research and the upcoming integration of psychedelic into medicine. I was pleasantly surprised when it was now a deep dive into the life of a girl with a severe opioid addiction and her adventure into underground psychedelic medicine to receive clean. I think this movie is going to land very well for a lot of people. It's simple to watch despite having such massive content and comes off as very relatable.
