Description: Pink Floyd released a 19-minute "video EP" in 1983 for The Final Cut, essentially four melody videos in a continuous sequence, directed by Willie Christie, who was Roger Waters' brother-in-law. Scottish actor Alex McAvoy, who played the teacher in the movie ver of The Wall, had a prominent role in the video EP. Waters appears (though all but his mouth is silhouetted) as a patient singing the lyrics to a psychologist on the grounds of the Fletcher Memorial Home.
Description: Timeless: Live in Concert, recorded at her Las Vegas present on Fresh Year's Eve 1999, takes as its topics the star herself. It opens with a dramatization of her first, amateur recording session, with young Lauren Frost testing a part described in the credits as "Young Girl," though Streisand soon refers to her as "mini-me." Frost doesn't receive too far before being joined by Streisand herself on a stirring ver of "Something's Coming" from West Side Story. The rest of "Act One" traces Streisand's career from her club days to her film performances. "Act Two" has less of a narrative structure, though it is equally autobiographical, with Streisand displaying and commenting on videos of herself performing with another stars and building up to the stroke of midnight with a combination of old, recent, and fresh specially written songs. At 57 that night, Streisand remains in nice voice.

Description: A frustrated big-band promoter runs in to rock-and-rollers Bill Haley and the Comets at a small-town dance. He quickly becomes their manager and, with the support of Alan Freed, hopes to bring the fresh sound to the whole country. But will a conniving booking agent, with a private ax to grind with the manager, conspire to hold the band from making the large time?
Description: Singer-songwriter-guitarist Boz Scaggs has kept a fairly weak profile since his heyday in the '70s and '80s--a circumstance more than rectified with Best Hits Live, a great-looking, great-sounding concert recorded in San Francisco in 2004. For the most part, this is Silk Degrees-style Boz, drawing from a huge catalog that favors ballads (some quite lovely, like "Harbor Lights," "We're All Alone," and "Look What You've Done to Me") and deft pop-R&B-jazz à la Steely Dan (albeit with more soul and less verbal wit and sophistication). But while "Lido Shuffle," and another expected hits are here, so are few grittier, bluesier moments, including Earl King's "It All Went Down the Drain" and extended versions of the large band blues "Runnin' Blue" and the slow lament "Loan Me a Dime" (a tune from Scaggs's 1969 solo album that featured nice guitar testing by the late Duane Allman).
Description: Explosive and energetic, Alanis Morissette pulls in the audience on this episode of HDNet Concerts Presents with tips of difficult rock, gentle folk, electronic beats and gratis flowing Eastern melodies. The set contains quintessential hits about loving and letting go from the seven-time Grammy winner’s days as a confessional rock phenomenon: “All I Really Want,” “Hands Clean,” “Thank U” and “Uninvited.” The singer/songwriter also introduces fanatics to her recent and most adventurous album, So-Called Chaos, with songs including “Eight Simple Steps,” and “Excuses,” among others. The honest, unadulterated performance reflects Morissette’s transport away from her days as a rancorous 90’s rocker, and into the mode of mature musician ready to experiment with her strengths. Morissette’s enduring introspection, continual evolution and evocative scene presence shine in this performance.
Description: Oasis plays songs from all their albums - spanning a nearly twenty year career - but the songs from their fresh album, "Dig Out Your Soul," are featured heavily on the set list.

Description: Two remarkable live shows one DVD. Whereas "Reitermania Over Wacken" represents the newer side of the band and a "regular" (in fact, there is no regular Reiter-Show as each present is unique) show, "Reitermania Over Party.San" is a unique old school gig with some almost forgotten gems from the first three albums! Both shows are legendary and really worth to be documented on this DVD – for each fanatic who missed these specials shows. "Tobsucht – Reitermania over Wacken & Party.San" is an impressive statement of a band that continually evovled and grew over the years, but everytime remember: The greatest is yet to come!
Description: Incubus: Look Alive is a dedicated summation of the state of Incubus, the alt-metal band born in the San Fernando Valley. While the seemingly low-key band takes to the street in some fairly exotic places, it demonstrates during live performances of the jangly "Quicksand," the hard-rocking "Megalomaniac," and dramatic "Anna Molly" that vocalist Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, bassist Dirk Lance, and drummer Jose Pasillas are close to mastering their ever-developing penchant for radical tonal shifts within songs. A novel element on this disc is travel footage from the band’s tour, including photos from Israel, Dubai, London, and peculiarly beautiful, surreal shots of Iceland.

Satisfying introduction to the globe of TMBG. Your appreciation for these videos might depend on your taste for the band's special musical vision, but it's difficult for even the uninitiated to come away without tapping a toe, or smiling at the goofy visual wit. Wisely, the compilation's been arranged in reverse chronological order, so the videos receive cheaper, loopier, and more inventive as you go along. The greatest ones come nearer the end: `Birdhouse in Your Soul,' `Ana Ng,' `Don't Let's Start,' and `Put Your Hand Inside the Puppet Head,' which detail bizarre choreography, jam-packed design, and a permeating silliness. Essential for hardcore TMBGeeks, of course, but suggested for newbies, too. The DVD includes some neat extras, and low-key commentary from Flansburgh and Linnell.
They Might Be Giants ARE creativity, and the globe has been blessed by their presence in melody for over 20 years now. This is a collection of all their commercially released melody videos made from 1986 through 1998. The pieces are generally no less constructive than the band itself, and while, unlike some another nice melody videos, they don't appear to say obvious stories, that doesn't mean they're any less interesting. Everytime light and often fun, every of these videos is repeatedly watchable from beginning to end.
