Millions of folks built them and lived there under the most dreadful conditions. And actually the time is running short for survivors or their direct descendants to say their storyline firsthand.
Description: “Hi, what are you up to?” On the video chat, Periscope, the exchange of photos can be enriched by text messages and/or a flow of hearts allowing folks who are streaming their video live to see strangers’ comments on their appearance or their conversations. Entirely constructed using these exchanges, National Narrative probes the exhibitionist norm of the enhanced selfie. Spontaneous poetry (“Your eyes they wanna drive me bananas”), a burlesque stage between two loafers who are unable to create out which of them is receiving mocking comments as they confuse left and right on the screen… Far from sparking derision, this montage instead points up the users’ self-derision and the paradoxical coyness of a zone where folks claim to present everything, from breasts to vomit. How does the immediacy of a chat between strangers integrate into its playful and intentionally exaggerated quotidian, the incommensurable horror when a tragic happening intervenes?
Description: Director Sam Hampton brings heart to this transgender-transition movie with a storyline of celebration, health, and unconditional love. A much-needed portrayal of biracial trans and gender-nonconforming lives in America, this documentary chronicles the transition of Zo Thorpe and the sympathetic response of his family. But CHANGE IN THE FAMILY is about so much more than the transition experience; it speaks to the complexity of young adulthood, being a person of color, having a biracial identity, and coming out as trans and gender-nonconforming. Zo’s storyline provides hope for a time when portraying this kind of experience is no longer so unusual.

A documentary about Ole Ritter's attempt to break the hour record. The film takes zone in Mexico City. 'The impossible hour' is not as nice as Leth's another cycling movies, but still worth the time. This is more of a straight up documentary, than 'A Sunday in hell' fx.Still 'The impossible ...' gives a fine look in to the globe of pro cycling, and a equally fine portrait of danish rider Ole Ritter, and his relationship to teammates on the Bianchi-team. Most notable is a stage where Ritter defends himself to international reporters, and test Leth to receive the right message out.
