Description: SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL is an exhilarating, provocative motion picture. The Rolling Stones rehearse their recent song, "Sympathy For the Devil," in a London studio. Beginning as a ballad, the track gradually acquires a pulsating groove, which gets Jagger into a rousing vocal display of soulful emotion that Godard is lucky enough to capture on film. Showing that rock and roll is more than just partying and goofing off, SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL is a brilliant portrait of the constructive process at its most collaborative and arousing.

The Hemp Revolution #

Released 10/20/1995

Description: This documentary covers a entire lot of ground. It deals with each historical and contemporary aspect of hemp usage and cultivation (mainly in the U.S.), which turns out to be a lot. From describing the production of a fiber much more durable and economic than wood, the documentary discusses hemps multilateral uses as e.g. meal products, as a non-polluting fuel and as a pharmaceutical product with much less grievous side-effects than chemical pharmaceutical products. The movie also investigates why America went from a country which produced vast quantities of the non-narcotic industrial hemp, to the finished ban on hemp production in 1938. This storyline in particular is interesting, and it points out that the huge oil-based industries now had a key role in the aforementioned ban. Meal for thought! The conclusion of the documentary should be that hemp may prove to be a valid alternative to both oil and wood in the future.

さよならCP Reviews:

This movie was too strong for me to take all in one sitting. I had to break it into 3 segments on various nights to be able to take it all in.I urge you to watch this, to think about this, and to think again. It will create you consider what is truly necessary in this world. And for them..for them this IS the world, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year..for their whole lives. For us, we can turn off the movie, stop thinking about it..put it out of our mind..or can we? I will be thinking about this for a long time to come.

This is a hard film. Hard to review, hard to watch and hard to convey everything of the experience to someone reading this, who has yet to see the film! These folks suffer from Cystic fibrosis. It is not pretty. They know this. They wish to present us what it is really like to have to live under such a hard restriction as CP.You cannot watch this and not be affected by it, not be forced to look at yourself, your own humanity, your selfish ways, your supposed 'problems' etc. You are forced to look at them differently and with a fresh perspective. If you can sit through this movie and NOT do any of those things then you really would have to be callous, emotionless and perhaps, thinking about it, just like many many folks are when they are using the internet!Anyway, I urge you to watch this and it may be painful or hard to do so.That really is the point. Force yourself to watch. there is nothing gory or frightening in the film, just the disfigured contorted bodies of these folks and the laboured method in which they speak, which is disturbing to our ears. That is why you MUST create yourself watch.Give them the credit they deserve for even making the movie. It is a sad movie and I will never forget it.
