Through animated montages, readings and interviews, this movie tutorials us through the history of the medium from the late 1930s and 1940s with the first explosion of popularity with the superheroes created by nice talents like Jack Kirby and hitting its first artistic zenith with Will Eisner's "Spirit". It then shifts to the post fight comics globe with the rising popularity of crime and horror comics, especially those published by EC Comics under the editorshiop of William B. Gaines until it came ruining down the rise of censorship with the imposition of the Comics Code. In its wake of the devastation of the medium's constructive freedom, we also discover EC's defiant survival with the creation of the singular "Mad Magazine" by Harvey Kurtzman.
Description: Documentary portraying the actions of U.S. corporate contractors in the U.S.-Iraq war. Interviews with employees and former employees of such companies as Halliburton, CACI, and KBR recommend that government cronyism is behind apparent "sweetheart" deals that give such contractors enormous freedom to profit from supplying help and material to American units while providing tiny oversight. Survivors of employees who were killed discuss the claim that the companies cared more for profit than for the welfare of their own workers, and troops indicate that the quality of services provided is sub-standard and severely in contradiction to the comparatively large profits being generated. Also depicted are the unsuccessful attempts by the filmmakers to receive company spokesmen to reply to the charges made by the interviewees.
