The problem is that this is nothing more than interviews with folks who knew Dick talking, inter-cut with some audio interview footage spiced up with cartoon of Dick at the typewriter. There is almost nothing another than the interviews themselves, no photos, some fleeting shots of printed material and of the outside of Dick's house. There is no narration, no attempt to explain any of the works he wrote or of his life, its simply remembrances that will mean nothing to anyone who has never read any of his ebooks or, more importantly, never heard any of the stories of the man. My Dad who watched this with me was fully bewildered because he didn't know about Dick's life.

So Chevallier decided to support found a circus in Guinea. 36 young folks were selected from the town of Conakry to participate in what would become Circus Baobab. A group of French circus artists were imported to train the participants for 2 years in acrobatics and trapeze. Then the group took their present on the road. This movie is Chevallier's acc of the troupe's inaugural tour in Guinea, from March 1 - April 11, 2000.

In Les 4 Saisons d'Espigoule, Philibert returns to the city where he grew up (and left when he was 25) to movie the residents for a year. In addition to capturing Espigoule's annual Goat Rodeo and Fresh Year's Eve costumes, the audience gets an inside look at the backbone of the local economy (sheep herding) and a night of large excitement (a bingo match). We also meet a several of the locals, who present off their talents (painting, classical piano, imitating Liza Minnelli). While scripted in advance by Philibert, the movie was indeed shot in his hometown, and the "actors" testing the citizens of Espigoule now do live there.
