Growing Pains: Puberty in Horror Movies (2014) *** (out of 4)Writers Axelle Carolyn, Rebekah McKendry, Kristy Jett and Heidi Honeycutt lead a discussion on puberty in horror movies when it comes to games like GINGER SNAPS and CARRIE. This panal discussion clocks in just shy of thirty-minutes and for the most part it's a fascinating look at female puberty and sexuality when it comes to horror movies. The most interesting aspect of this is hearing the women's mission of view when it comes to these films and what concepts these movies are throwing out there. I can't tell that I accepted with everything that they were telling but at the same time if you're a fanatic of something like GINGER SNAPS then you'll be interested in this discussion. I thought the concept of female sexuality was handled quite well and I would accept that we need one of these films from a woman's mission of view (although the screenwriter of GINGER SNAPS was female).
